The Vineyards San Diego
Ramona Ranch Winery patio and valley view

Ramona Ranch Winery

Voted "Best of Ramona" several years running, Ramona Ranch sits on the valley's eastern side with a newly expanded tasting space and an expansive view. It's both dog- and picnic-friendly, and the property is a Certified Wildlife Habitat — expect hawks and roadrunners. A flight of six wines runs about $15; the Tannat is a standout among the reds.

Because it opens at 11 and is one of the more spacious patios in the valley, it makes an ideal mid-day lunch stop on a tasting loop.
