San Diego County's wineries are spread across six areas: Ramona Valley, Highland Valley & Escondido, Warner Springs, San Pasqual, Julian, and a growing set of urban and coastal tasting rooms. Ramona Valley, about a 45-minute drive from downtown San Diego, has the densest concentration.

How many wineries are there in San Diego?

More than 115 across San Diego County. Most are small, family-run operations where the winemaker often pours for you — a different experience from Napa or Temecula.

What is the best area for wine tasting in San Diego?

When are San Diego wineries open, and do I need a reservation?

Many tasting rooms are open weekends only. Reservations are recommended on weekends and for groups. Small wineries change hours seasonally, so confirm with the winery before you go.
